Hi all, A new cb-1 owner here from Ireland. It's a red 1989 which needs a little tidying up. This is my first bike (well sort of, i had a 50cc scooter about 10 years ago) and im really looking forward to getting out on the road. Great site you's have here with loads of info.
I just tought i'd say hello first of all and im sure i will have some questions for you all soon.

Thanks for the welcome.

91cb-1: Im from Dublin myself, i moved down here a few years ago, it would be good to meet up with some -1'ers. Im not on the road yet, still have to sort out my learners permit and lid and some gear but as soon as i am i will let ya know.

Just a quick question it might be silly but anyway. I noticed on the engine block its stamp starts with nc23, i know they share the same engine but slightly tuned differantly and i was wondering if all cb-1 engine's start with nc23 instead of nc27.

Here is a pic of my machine, it needs a spay job done on it because the last owner done it himself but not very good, i also need the seat recovered as it has a few rips in it.

Ya Engine number starts with nc23 frame numbers nc27, In terms of paint job i got mine done cheap enough by a polish guy i still have his number if you want it, profesional job and everything. if you get decals before you get the paint job done he'll do the whole thing together. also have a site in canada that'll do the decals fairly cheap too. let me know if you want either of these and i'll PM them to you. where you livin in Dublin?

Thanks for clearing that up for me, i had toughts of someone doing an engine swap on it.
It will be a while before i get it resprayed funds are a little tight at the moment.
Im origanlly from shankill (out near Bray) but moved down to sligo a few years ago. I do be dublin quite a bit tough still have family and friends there. Im hopen to get on the road in the next couple of weeks and as soon as im confident and a nice sunny weekend i will take a spin up Dublin and i'll giv ya a shout.
Is there many other Irish on here? I have seen a few -1's around and they seem to be riden by couriers, and i guess thats a good thing considering its there work machine.

Thanks, but I'm after a set in custom colours to match the non standard red I'm going to use for the wheels and frame.
