So.......I had a front wheel bearing detonate on me last week. I finally managed to remove what was left of the race from the hub only to find a crack in the hub.

Does anyone have a front rim they may be willing to part with or know if any other front wheel will fit?

Thanks in advance.

You'll have to check but I think the Hawk front wheel fits.

There are several available on Ebay UK at the minute they seem to range from £40-60 (about 60-90 Canadian). Some will post internationally but it won't be cheap, I've checked based on the weight of the rim and it comes in at £60-70ish (90 - 105 Canadian) but there would be packaging cost on top of that.

If you get stuck and find a rim you want in the UK that the seller won't ship internationally I'm happy to buy and forward it to you as long as you send me the money to do it, but you'd have to pay local postage too. Assuming you went with a cheaper wheel like this you'd be looking at about 180 Canadian by the time it reached you (excluding any Import taxes/duty)

Or This Seller based in Ireland ships internationally and is one of the cheaper wheels I've seen.

Thanks. I was looking at one from London who is looking for 60GBP plus 50GBP for shipping and have just sent a quote to the guy in Ireland.

Does anyone know if a 1992 rim will fit on a 1990?

Think the wheel was standard across all years, I also wouldn't be convinced that the age is accurate either as I doubt the Irish system is any better than the UK and my 89 was registered as a 91/92 when it was imported.

Be careful, there are a lot of none too bright sellers on eBay that don't know the difference between a CB-1, CB400SF and CB1000 Big One. Roll Eyes Could be wrong, (again), but the Hawk fork leg or forks fit straight into the CB-1, I know for a fact that a fair few people use Hawk wheels in CB-1s..........somehow*.

*:- based on the understanding the American "Hawk" is the same as the UK "Bros".

as far as i know in ireland we only imported the jap spec's which only ran to 91 the US was the only one to run to 92, and yes if the bike is imported then the reg is the year of import not the year of the bike, but it should run standard accross all years

This looks pretty much identical to my front wheel, color excepted...any reason to doubt it is a  -1 wheel?

He's got over 1000 feedback and 100% satisfaction, I can't really see any reason to believe this is not as advertised.

Not sure about Eire but no CB-1s were officialy sold in the UK. All are grey imports. Type 1s and type 2s.

Well, decided to pick it up. Got it for 100 Euros shipped to my door, shipping was more than double the price I paid for the rim! Hopefully a little paint and some new bearings and I am rolling again soon!

Ya they would have been grey imports here aswell hence why alot of them were regestered 92 or 93. i don't think we officially imported them. what do you mean about type 1 and 2?
