Hey there anyone have any good tips for splitting a crank case? having a really hard time with it. took torch to it rubber mallet, everything i can think of bar dropping it off a 20 story building

Don't get mad, but do you have all the crankcase bolts removed ?
There should be 32 crankcase bolts laying on your bench.
6 from the top and 26 from the bottom. Remember the main bearing bolts that are hidden by the oil pan.
See page 10-2 in the S/M

Don't be tempted to pry between the cases, Honda usually has pry points both at the front and the rear that are specifically designed to take a beating.

Aye, very easy to miss a bolt Wink Give the join quite a few taps with a wooden mallet beore going near the pry points.

Prying the engine is a last resort, it's not even a resort it'd be more like a refugee camp to be honest. i'm going to try taking all the internals out make it easier for me to not break something.
