My rear shock has died Sad

bike wallows like a hippo, so I guess the valve (?) has gone - there's no rebound damping.

So I'm going to swap for a fireblade shock, but I'm not sure which one.

Just to make things more interesting, my bike has a CBR400RR NC23 swingarm.

I think this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-CBR900-FIREBLADE-SHOCK-SHOCKER-CBR-900-RRN-B413-/250365544255?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3a4af3073f

is the right one, but I'm not sure.

Also, that one looks in pretty tatty condition, anyone know of any good clean ones?

Thanks

Al

Hi all,

this is for my old bike. PS, it's an NC29 arm mate Smiley

As discussed in PMs some will tell you a 93-95 fireblade shock fits, and it does, but it's like saying a marble fits where a similarly sized ball bearing is specced. It fits, but won't work properly! Terribly undersprung, would be OK if you or someone you know could put a CB-1 or similar spring on. I've read a bike with a CBR shock on, so speak from experience!

I'll apologise now for the amount of labour involved in getting the shock off, but it'll encourage you to do associated jobs that require maintaining like greasing the swingarm bearings.

If you're lucky someone on here can help?

If you're lookin for a really good shock with preload and rebound, designed for the cb-1 then the Hagon is a fantastic way to go. i got one on mine and it's sweet as a nut put it to race hard settings and throw her around the bends in style and comfort! http://images.wemoto.com/suspension/ad36.html http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/Honda/CB-1_CB_400_F__NC27/89-90/
