Has anyone got a spare reserve tube? found out the other day that i dont have one and had to push my bike to the petrol station. lots of fun.

The "reserve" function is in the tap itself, both "on" and "reserve" have the same feed to the carbs. Could be that the lower part of the tap is blocked but I would have thought it would affect normal flow too.

I thought that theres meant to be like a 5" tube in in the petcock so that once fuel goes below the top of the tube you have to go to reserve.

ok and yes there is supposed to be a tube, and in addition a plastic filter that fits in before the petcock. i bought a new assembly for 60 bucks at the dealer that included the filter. let me know if you come up dry, you can have my spare for free, and just pay for shipping. i do not have a spare filter however, mine was pooched

This is how they come new, reserve part of the tap is the brown tube inside the green filter:-
If you can find the right size, can't see any reason why you can't fit your own piece of pipe.

well i managed to get a tap off a cbr 400 but the pipe looks a bit too long, is there any chance someone could measure theres an tell me what it should be? cheers

Its bang on three inches from the top of the petcock nut. obviously the tube extends another 1/2 inch or so into the petcock, but 3 inches goes in the tank(that sounds dirty)

ha ha cant beat a bit of petrol fueled filth. cheers for that. i will haveto cut down this tube then as it is about 6 inches. cheers for that mate
