Nasty pipe bro. It probably sounds nastier when the engine is on high rev levels

Fireblades pegs will make your backride very uncomfortable specially during long rides. But it does look good, specially when you compare it to the stock pegs that looks huge, full of scratch and old. But who cares, some people probably want to ride alone specially when you get to drive these babies. The CB-1 tank badge never gets old, its a looker. It makes the rider look "macho", and it makes the ride look like a true "classic".
Anyway, what do you think about the bike below? (attached some pics)
Crap, I'm not familiar with technical stuffs about bikes. Which makes it difficult for me to immediately purchase one.
Btw, guys, do you a soft copy of a Service Manual / Repair Manual of a 89/-1? Thanks.

I think it looks good! Missing your favourite macho badges though

it's not a great copy but it's all there. I think there's also a PDF copy knocking about somewhere.

Thanks Morti
Btw, the only problem with the bike (posted above) is that the speedo/tacho/odo is no longer functioning. Whats the best remedy? Replace it the entire panel? or just the Cables? Thanks again dude.

If it is your speedo and odo that are not working, check your "widget". Yes, really, "widget". See #8 on the drawing Aaron so kindly posted.

It drives the speedo cable and is a relatively common problem.
If it is also your tach that is not working or both are accident damaged then you will be looking for good originals for a long time. Recently there have been aftermarket ones on ebay at very reasonable cost.

Here's a pic of mine, sorry for the quality...I took it when I got home from work one night. It still has the original turn signals on here and I haven't painted/polished the wheel at this point.
Nice bike! I like the twin headlights! Where did you got them?
Does it have low and high beams? Or one is for the low, and the other for the high?
By the way, Im from the Philippines also.

Hi chitor, I picked up the dual headlights from here :
http://www.flyncycle.com/Dominator_Twin_Motorcycle_Headlight_p/hlutrch.htm
But you could probably find them elsewhere if you dig around. This was the cheapest place I found them however.
They do have hi and low beams, the headlights come with H4 halogen bulbs which I replaced with H4 style HID BI-XENON bulbs and the conversion kit which I purchased from here:
http://stores.ebay.ca/autoluminate
The whole kit is very easy to install, I made a couple of small spacers (you can use washers) to accommodate the extra width of the dual lights and had to lengthen one of the wire harness' that come with the kit so I could hide the relay in the tail section. The slim/super slim ballasts will fit under the front side covers, but I had to remove the snorkels from the air box to make room. You will be left with a bunch of factory wire bundles to try to hide upfront when you remove the original headlight. All of these I wrapped in heat shrink or electrical tape to protect from the elements and stuffed it all behind the new headlights.
They are super bright in the daytime as well as night, and the same intensity in hi or low, an electromagnet in the bulb simply shifts the focus of the beam. You can choose an variety of colors for the bulbs depending on your taste.
DO NOT PAY THE ASKING PRICE!!!! Use the "best offer" option and you should be able to get the kit for almost half the asking price.
REgina CB-1 has a post on here somewhere about the whole process. You can also send me a pm and I will be happy to help you out.

My first BB (BigBike) is a Honda Steed (VLX400), it has aftermarket parts installed, extended forks, dragpipes, shotgun air intake, Alluminum Radiator Cover, T-Bars, it has a brand new rear tire, I got it for Php70,000, complete with papers. What i liked about the steed is its low seat height very confortable and very wide rear tires. I rode it on several out of town trips recently was Aurora province. Very stable, i just replaced the handle bars with a customized one. Much wider which made the bike more comfortable. My steed does 15 to 16 kms per liter of gas. Quite hungry yes. Two weeks ago I got a Honda CB-1 and like you i did some research, read several reviews and articles on the bike. I got my Cb1 for Php75,000 complete with papers. And after everyday of riding to the office since then its doing 20kms per liter. Much conservative compared to my steed. Much more power and acceleration what you expect in in-line fours. I havent had any preventive maintenance on the bike, havent changed any of the filters, plugs even the oil since i got it. I just recently cleaned tha carbs and instantly you'll feel the difference. Much more if i have those things replaced. I am also planning to convert my steed into a bobber, but for now im still excited with my CB1. And to tell you having either you get yourself a steed or a cb1 you wont regret it, it all depends on what attitude you want on a bike. A powerful torque oriented, comfortable on long drives, stable and dependable and very reliable Honda Steed or a speed, rpm hungry, super responsive and sporty CB1. On both bikes since havig both, my thumbs up on these two. After all, they are Hondas.
