Hello everybody - I just joined this weekend and thought I best introduce myself before I start posting at random.

I'm a young engineer working in the power industry, in beautiful Taranaki. Got married about 6 months ago, and let go of my last bike at about the same time (A Triumph 675). After looking around for an eternity for a fun commuter / thrash bike I settled on a CB-1, and I love it!

Having a few minor running issues (carbs I think), but ultimately it's a lovely smooth little thing.

Anyhow, just thought I'd say hello, and I look forward to talking and sharing with you all in the future.

Cheers,

Grant

Hi and welcome Grant.

I hope you enjoy your CB-1 as much as I have mine. I'm sure you will with all the beautiful scenery you have to ride through in your area. I must admit, I had never heard of Taranaki before now so I did a search and OH MY GOODNESS! I am so jealous now. Cool

I think you will enjoy the group and find everyone very helpful if you need any advice or direction.

Clark

Welcome to the family!  Being that you are a new member, you MUST take pics of your CB-1 in front of some of the beautiful scenary that you have where you live!  Thanks clark for posting that you tube video.  I too was scratching my head regarding where he lives.  The coastlines and some of those waterfalls were very nice!  I like the size of your bon-fires down there as well!  Go big or go home, huh?  LOL

Welcome Grant!

Beautiful country you have! I have been to Auckland and Wellington and skiing on Mt Ruapehu. If I could choose another country to live and work in It would probably be New Zealand! Everyone was so friendly and it felt like a condensed version of Canada!

Couldn't pick a better place to ride twistys than there! Enjoy!

Welcome aboard Grant, I hope you stick around, with not that many CB-1s around, it's not as busy here as a lot of other forums but all the info is here.

BTW, I've always wondered, where was the "Old" Zealand? Holland maybe Huh Huh

Cheers all, thanks for making me feel so welcome.

I plan on getting out on the bike a bunch after Christmas, and I will deliver on the photo request from ptlcb1! The only thing that's stopping me at the moment is that the bike's in bits and I'm flat-out with work.. but there's light at the end of the tunnel Smiley

I wish I could take it with me over to Vietnam - I'm not going to enjoy the thought of it sitting in the shed unused all the time I'm away.
