Welcome to the site! Very nice looking machine you have there! I have always been a fan of yellow bikes. Did you paint it yourself?

Good eye CB1rocket  Wink. You are correct about the non-Cali bikes not having the recirc. My Canadian smurf blue one doesn't.

What is this exhaust recirculation you two speak of?

What does it do exactly?  TIA.

I am sure almost all gas and diesel powered cars use it nowadays and probably most bikes. It feeds a portion of the exhaust gases back in to the intake, reducing the percentage of oxygen in the combustion chamber and reducing the pollutants (and horsepower).

The longer version is explained much better than I could here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exhaust_gas_recirculation

Didn't the CB1 System wasn't jus a secoundary Air System?

So just pushing fresh Air into the Exhaust to "afterburn" Fuel that was unburned in thy engine?

At least when I look at the Diagramm of it - it looks like...

But it's still shit and worth to remove it from the Bike.....

You are correct Falk. The CB-1 has only fresh air injection in the exhaust to help reduce unburnt hydrocarbons. I didn't look at the manual. Embarrassed The fresh air injection by itself will not necessarily hurt the hp but the related changes to the exhaust camshaft to reduce overlap and pollutants sure will.
