Has anyone seen/bought/tried one of these?

They're quite expensive, but might serve a purpose! I'd appreciate any thoughts, thanks.

I used to have a hepco and becker full luggage rack which I picked up cheap enough off eBay when I lived in Germany. I chopped the side carriers off when I did my rebuild, and turned it into a bodged-on top box only rack. Their kit is only of OK quality, I had welds snap a couple of times, though in fairness I did badly overload that rack on many occasions. I think the first time it went I had a box full of power tools hanging on one side. The top box locking system leaves something to be desired, as the box doesn't lock securely, it rattles around and scrapes the paint off.
£150?! That said, it looks tidy enough and you have seriously limited options when it comes to luggage on a CB-1, mostly involving bodging on horribly ugly Givi kit.
So get one if you really really need one, but use a universal top box on it.

Thanks for that. I've got a steel top box I used on my old Yamaha YBR125, It rattled like hell, but was a good size and strong enough. I hate wearing rucksacks but £100ish for a decent Kriega might be money better spent than £150 on a rack if its not good quality.
I appreciate your comments, thanks.

I guess I should be fair here... the rack I had was probaly 10+ years old, and due to the available mounting points, there wasn't much holding the side boxes to the bike - just one M6 bolt per side, on a twisted bit of angle iron. Despite that I would often lug 20kg+ each in the three 50 litre boxes, at the same time. And I wouldn't slow down, in fact I remember I enjoyed seeing how fast it would go fully laden. It was one of those occasions that a weld failed. I had a lot of tools including battery tools and hammers in one side and clothes or whatever else which was much lighter in the other side, and the imbalance probably was what killed it.
If you intended to treat a rack better, then you would probably have more luck with it. Hepco and Becker is the box of choice for the discerning BMW GS rider these days.
It's still a lot of money though.

Honda did actualy have a rack as part of it's official accessories kit for the Type II:-
Might be worth trying the part number out at your nearest Honda dealer. You never know your luck. My guess is that it will come with an Official accessories price tag too

Well that's the first time I've seen that. Many thanks Drewski, I'll give it a go and make sure I'm sitting down. I might just have to sell one of the children!

David Silver's might be your best bet, explain that it's part of the CB-1 accessory pack and ask if they can order one from Japan.
Good luck, they, (CB-1s), were quite popular in Japan so there's a chance there might be one or two still in stock.

Hi,
I've checked with David Silver, Honda have discontinued it and they have no stock, thanks for the suggestion though!
