Hi all,

I suppose I should looking for help shifting parts which I won't need. Most of this stuff is currently being used on my bike, but will not be required once I am through upgrading everything:

CB-1 forks. Chrome in good condition, no marks in the travel area. New oil + dust seals, new 10W oil, with firestorm springs and adjustable preload caps. The lowers could use some paint. The new springs and oil have improved the ride a lot, the ride is much more sporty. Would suit a sporty rider, or a heavier rider, as the spring rate is harder than standard (not soggy or saggy!). Adjustable preload is useful if you take passengers, but in general for solo riders too.
£60+post. Good as an upgrade, and sell yours or keep for spares.

CB-1 bottom yoke. In OK condition.
£10+post.

CB-1 front wheel. In usable condition, this has a mark around the inside of the rim, which looks like the caliper has rubbed against it? The tyre is an Avon Roadrider 110/80-17 with most of its tread still present. The tyre is the wrong size, but seems to work OK, and is within the recommended size range for the rim. Bearings seem OK.
£40+post. Useful spares, and cheaper than a part-worn tyre + fitting.

CB-1 rear wheel. In OK condition, this has had new bearings when I got the bike. Comes with sprocket, carrier and rubbers. The sprocket is a 37 - save fuel by reducing revs. I am keeping the disc. The tyre is a 140/70-17 Avon Roadrider in good condition with most of its tread still there.
£50+post. Useful spares, and cheaper than a part-worn tyre + fitting.

CB-1 clip-ons. In OK condition, these have all weights present and all threads are good, no crash damage. I am keeping the grips.
£30+post.

CB-1 front brake master in OK condition with a little paint peeling off. The mirror thread is good. I am probably going to keep the lever (depends what master I end up using).
£20+post.

CB-1 front brake caliper in good condition. This had new seals when I got the bike, the paint on the outer is reasonable and it functions well for what it is. There are some near-new pads in there but they are from Armstrong and don't work in the rain - re-use them at your own risk!
£25+post.

CB-1 front disc. Some wear but plenty of meat on it, paint is scruffy.
£30+post.

CB-1 swingarm. In scruffy condition with a little rust around the shock mount. Ideal if you want one to recondition (powder coat, new bearings, etc.) ready to drop in while still using your bike.
£20+post.

All the stuff above is still currently in use but will be available soon! Prefer collection as it's mostly big and relatively heavy stuff, but postage where required will be at cost by royal mail + a beer to me. I am open to offers, especially in cases where you can collect, and in cases where you want job lots.

CB-1 top yoke. In decent condition, this is the one I bought from Drewski, but I won't be needing it now as I'm using 45mm forks. It is from a USA bike I think, and is painted grey rather than polished/lacquered/corroded like most JP model yokes are.
I'd like my £10 back please!

I'm not selling one. I can't help you with what might fit either.

Did you sell most of these parts?
I'd have the forks off you for that price and I'd pay postage to London.  Smiley

PM me.

PM me.
I haven't sold any of it yet as it goes, and I could do with clearing it out my neighbour's garage so I should probably get round to listing it all on ebay sooner rather than later.

PM on the way.

Anyone want any of this stuff? I really don't want to have to put it on eBay, so go ahead and make me an insulting offer.

You can have the spindle if you want it.
£35+post. Useful spares, and cheaper than a part-worn tyre + fitting.

CB-1 rear wheel. In OK condition, this has had new bearings when I got the bike. Comes with sprocket carrier and rubbers but no sprocket. The tyre is a 140/70-17 Avon Roadrider in good condition with most of its tread still there. You can have the spindle if you want it.

CB-1 clip-ons. In OK condition, no crash damage. I am keeping the grips and weights.
£20+post.

CB-1 front brake master in OK condition, works well but with a little paint peeling off. The mirror thread is good. Straight lever.
£20+post.

CB-1 front disc. Some wear but plenty of meat on it, straight. The paint is scruffy.
£20+post.

CB-1 rear disc. Worn but straight.
£10+post.

CB-1 swingarm. In scruffy condition with a little rust around the shock mount. Ideal if you want one to recondition (powder coat, new bearings, etc.) ready to drop in while still using your bike.
£15+post.

I'm not a big fan of using couriers - I am not often at home for things to be collected, except Saturdays which usually carries a premium. To be honest I am more likely going to take things to the post office and proverbially "bend over".

If I take a crazy guess at up-to 6kg, Hermes comes in at £5, standard parcels at £10.34.

What was the story with the SF exhaust, did you offer it up for fit? I am after doing something with my exhaust, not too sure what just yet, though.

Hi Morti, sorry for the late reply. I did buy that pipe but I'm not 100% convinced that it's an SF pipe. It's got "CB400SF" and "CB-1" written in white but that's the only thing that might make anyone think it's off an SF. For a start, the downpipes are about an extra 30% fatter than then ones on my Kerker exhaust which seems a bit strange, but also, there are no flanges, (like on the CB-1), just, (this bits a bit hard to describe in words), a "collar" about 2 to 3 cm down from the top of each pipe, presumadly for collet type fitting. I havn't got it here with me at the moment otherwise I'd take some pics. It's definately ba Yoshi pipe, I looked up a bit about it and Yoshimura brought the first "Cyclone" out in the Eighties to deal with Japans new emissions regulations. It's in very good condition - no rust and just a couple of light scratches and well made, typical 80s Yoshi fare. I havn't offered it up yet, been busy sorting the VFR out, but I'll try it this week sometime. If you can use it, I can sell it on or do a deal with the swinger. Just a shame you're so far away, nearest I get to you on a regular,(ish), basis is when I see my son in Brighton but, (without looking at a map), that's probably over 150 miles away Roll Eyes

Drew, if it'll go on a cb-1 I'm very interested. Proper retro cool, I like it. Cyclone appears to be Yoshi's slightly-quieter branding too which suits me. Brighton is "only" 50 miles from me (PO5), so if you're up for a visit I'd pay your fuel, sort some beers, and you could cherry-pick my spares stash.

I've been looking at the pictures and worked out what you mean about how it fits. It wants separate flanges and 2-part collets to go ore the "cuffs", correct?

Next time you're where it is, could you measure the outer diameter of the cuffs, please?

Yup, correct about the collets, as far as I can tell anyhoo. I'll be back mid-week and will take some good pics and take some measurements. The downpipes come out of the collecter box, so at first I thought the flanges were just missing and would slide up the downpipes but then you've got those collecter/crossover pipes or whatever they are to stop them Huh The seller swore that it was for an SF so maybe Yoshi just created a different way to fix the pipe to the head. The proof in the pudding will be when I offer it up to the bike.

If it werent for the balancer pipe I'd just hack up an original exhaust (think I still have scraps of one at my dads) and use OE flanges. Shame but then again balancer pipes are cool, as their function is not really understood by anyone, so you get extra points for black magic.
