Riding hard and fast only gains me 90 miles before reserve.
high octane, high revs runs it. I also warm it up for a few because she likes it that way. ;

I get between 100 and 105 miles before reserve.  The last time was 104 and it took 2.5 gal to fill it up.  So it looks like around 40 mpg and that is winding it up in the revs.  I use 93 octane ethanol free gas in the little beast.

You are losing hp and spending more than necessary by using the high octane fuel.

Interesting.  I thought that with the relatively high compression ratio of the engine it would need higher octane. I did not want to risk detonation.

Owners manual calls for minimum 86 or higher octane.

Yup sorry folks i dunno what your talkin about either i'll get 180km's easy befor i have to switch to reserve
I got to 108 miles before changing to reserve on the last fill-up. That was mostly two-up hooning around the countryside, using all the revs. The mph speedo with 15/37 gearing is pretty close, so converting to "real" km's, it's about 170km. That'll do me.
Got >110 til reserve this time. Worked it out to 51.5mpg (43 US mpg). That'll do nicely. Funnily enough, that's about the same amount of miles per tank I was getting on my T595 - but the T595 took >17 litres each time, rather than >11 litres!
