Nope, they were on her when I got her. All I've done is give her a clean & polish, new boots and a service.

OK. A week off work half gone and she's doing well. So far this year now she's had:
A new set of BT45's
Oil & filter change
New Honda air filter (ebay)
New fuel filter
New rear s/s brake lines & fluid.
New rear brake pads & cleaned calliper.
Drained & replaced coolant
New 55w headlamp bulb (good for spotting the pot holes at night)
Replacement speedo lamp
Greased centre and side stands (should have done it months ago!)
New Hepco & Becker rear rack-discounted by Motobins (£130 including delivery but lousy customer service!)
Front brake lines & pads are waiting to go on when replacement front calliper arrives (Thankyou a_morti) as the bleed nipple was conspicuous by it's absence when I went to carry on this morning!
I think I still need to get the carbs balanced, her rev's aren't very steady but I'm going to have to pass that job to mr friendly bike garage I think!

I took her out for a quick blast this afternoon, I can't believe how well she's going. The coolant change seems to have made quite a difference, she's warming up nicely and the the thermostat seems to be working better. I've not ridden her much over the last couple of weeks as I was working nights last week as I will be again next week, but the time spent working on her is paying dividends, she wants to go, is really responsive and is handling great. Once the front brakes are done I think I'll be throwing my 1 man tent on the rack and enjoying some Welsh B-roads! Grin

Is the rack like this one?

That's pretty much what I ended up with once I'd chopped up the rack on my old CB-1. You'll be needing a universal plate or do what I did, sandwich the rack between two plates of sheet alloy and clamp a topbox on! Remember to use some sort of insulation on the tubes or the paint will rub off.

That's the rack. My old topbox is a steel design that just has 4 holes drilled in the bottom and 2 alloy braces either side to clamp around the bars. If I use the box will use some foam as insulation though because it rattles like hell otherwise. Just having the rack helps with commuting to work though so I'll decide about the box at a later date.
