hi all!
hows it going?
there i was this morning,on my way  to ASDA at the Marina, walking along the seafront,as i do.
not realising that today is Vintage Bike run again.so since i had to pass through,in order to get where i was going,
i had a look at all the lovely bikes, old and new parked up.lush 70's&80's DUCATI DESMOS next to  VFR's,SPEED TRIPLES,ROCKETS,SP II's.all surrounding the VINTAGE 1920'S and probably older DOUGLAS,REX etc.
probably near a thousand bikes all together.another long row on the way back along the top road, too.
some HARLEYS(YUK!) an NC29,CB250 N&400N'S.
but among all these several hundred diverse bikes,NOT ONE CB-1 OR CX500 at all Huh
i was very very surprised at that.

just thought i'd share this with you. Grin

It is a rare and getting more rare bike. There were few to begin with here in North America. In the U.K. and Europe they are being used up as they tend to put way more miles on  and ride in more damaging weather than we do where there is only half a year of riding.

I think that there were many times the number of CX500's than CB-1's. They are much more common on Craigslist and ebay but I suspect that many of them were ridden more miles than CB-1's due to their "touring bike" status.

We won't be having any outdoor bike events for awhile yet. All the snow is not quite gone and the roads are still heavy with salt.

yes there was many many CX500's.many different models.B,A,C,TURBO,EUROSPORT.
then the 650 models.
one of HONDA'S GREATEST CREATIONS EVER!
i have a CX500 A,wich was in itself a rare model to start with.
it has been off the road for a number of years and isn't in good shape, sadly.
there was a breakers a few miles from me who had 25 in bits.sadly they closed down some
years back.all the CX's have disappeared(a lot have been run into the ground by couriers).
they can do 250.000 miles plus without much of a problem.
i missed a 1983 eurosport recently on ebay.
bastard outbid me!!!! Sad

I see CX500's for sale all the time, but rarely see the CB-1 for sale. I rebuilt a CX650C a few years back. Check out the thread:

hi mrbones!
You have done a Beautifull Restoration on the CX!
i had seen your bike on youtube before, last year.
Looks Amazing!
i have NEVER EVER seen a CX650 CUSTOM.
looks quite alien really, with the cast wheels rather than comstars.
they look more like suzuki wheels.
i like the candy red&black!very nice.
you now have a very unique custom!
do you ride it much?
