Hi all i'm looking for an exhaust to replace my own, preferebly a standard OEM with minimal damage, let me know what you've got please. Tha baffle has fallen into my can and is making a fearful rattle which detracts from the sound of the purring cams in the engine. If anyone has cut and replaced the can with anything i woluld be interested to know what you've used and how you did it? If all else fails this is what i will be doing

You might struggle to find good condition OE stainless units. Back about 5 years ago, I had two exhausts rot through that way so I think they aren't something which lasts forever.
You can chop it off at the link pipe, and get any local exhaust fabricator to make a link pipe from 2" stainless tube back to a slip-on can of your choosing. It's the best way. Ideally get the smallest can you can and mount it as far up and back as possible, as they can tend to reduce ground clearance. You can use CBR900 rear pegs to combat this ans they lift the exhaust higher, but they're not ideal if you regularly take a passenger as their feet will be up and forward.

Thanks morti i reacon this is what i'm just going to have to do, might have a lead on a titanium arrow exhaust which would be sweet, for a cb big 1 the main thing i don't want to loose is the purr of the engine which is why the stock oem, but if they're going to rot through anyway then what's the point! Thanks morti this is what i'll just have to do, i'll swing by a few breakers next week when i get paid and see what they have in store for me!

Whereabouts are they rotting through? Any pics anyone? I'm keeping an eye out in Japan for one for myself. I don't want to spend, (what will more than likely be quite a lot), on post for one that's rotten.

There's a plate which holds the baffles in place, that seems the weak link. You won't be able to tell without looking closely and even then its hard to be sure.

Good stuff, be interesting to see if it fits. If it's no good for you I might be interested in it just for cutting up and mounting a universal silencer on. That one looks pretty loud.

I'm pretty sure it won't fit, I seem to remember this from a while back and the SF barrels aren't leaning forward as much as the CB-1. The last pic in the description looks like one off Yahoo Jp so it may have come from there. Most Jap aftermarlket pipes are pretty noisy affairs.

mine has a full Beet titanium exhaust which i believe that was made for the SF. the fittings are slightly bent, but they are firmly in place and works with no problem at all.

here is a big pic to see how it looks like
