I feel terrible, I have sold my CB-1, I purchased a VFR and hoped to keep both, I then got laid off 2 wks later!!!!!!!!!! I put it for sale thinking nobody would give me what I was asking and someone did!!!!!!!!!!!
I know I know stupid right!
I hope the VFR will give me the same enjoyment the CB-1 did, And I hope the new owner treats her well.
I just wanted to thank everyone for all the great advice and help over the last 3 years,
I hope to one day be able to find the money to own another one day!!!!

I've read so many "I wish I'd kept my CB-1"'s now, I've made a deal with myself that I'll try to keep hold of her, that said I only paid £450 for her which makes it a bit easier. I think when the time comes to buy something else, it'll be another bike, not a replacement bike.

Enjoy the VFR, and best of luck with the job hunt  Wink

Hey guys,
Still miss the CB-1 on some days, The VFR is a great bike, lots of torque and a bit more passenger friendly, I still check up on the site as much as I can.

The CB-1 is a great bike, but there are lots of others.  I rode my VFR around the Canadian Maritime provinces and tool a lot of other great trips on it.  It was a wonderful 2-up bike.    I was easilly capable a freeway speeds.

I think the 1 is a great backroads bike. I really don't think for a day of riding country lanes, the tighter the better, that there is a better bike. You can also ride the "whole motor" on the 1, taking it to redline, feeling the power kick in around 7500 RPM.

Argueably you could go faster in tight conditons on a "real" 600 supersport, but I have never had trouble keeping up.

This weekend I am leading a ride of a dozen bike including a BMW K1300s and an FJR and all the rides have over 100,000 miles behind them.  I have no doubts the 1 is up to the task.

As a pure rides bike for the hills it's my favorite but it is narrowly focused.  It sucks in poor conditions, like broken pavement and construction areas.  It's poor on dirt toads and I find it's hard to steer on gravel.  In any condition like this my SV650 is a better bike.  It's not a touring bike, it's not a great highway bike.  Around Boston the commute speeds can top 85 MPH.  I wouldn't want to ride the 1 in that.

It's a great bike, but it's not every bike.  I would say own a VFR, a KLR or some other duel sport, some kind of sporty twin and a classic, like an old BMW or a Honda CB400F, maybe even a Harley.
