well, my dad purchased this bike from someone in chicago i believe. he gave it to me as a graduation present a few years ago. it was painted pearl white with pink pinstripes. this was over a purple coat that was over the stock blue. i had no problem with riding it for a year pink, but i decided it was time to change it.. lol. i  i was going to paint it bayside blue, but my dad got a few quarts of a honda color for free..... so i decided midnight blue it is! it is only sanded with 2000 grit and when i get time i'm going to go over it with 4000 and i kind of like the flat look.. so i'm going to hold off on buffing it and putting the decals on for a season. what do you think of the color?

Welcome!

Am I crazy, or did they do a hornet (599) in that colour, also flat?

Personally I think bikes should be shiny but don't let my opinion bother you!

This is the flat blue Hornet / 599:

Yours is indeed pretty tidy. Of all the random things to spot, I notice mine has the same aftermarket regulator as yours. From my quick test with the multimeter it seems to be very good at its job, too!

With regards to that link you posted, I know the guy and circumstances have come about, and sadly, that project is not going to be completed.

wow that's a cool color. lighter and a little more glossy than mine though.

that's too bad. it was a cool looking project.

i need a new thermostat. the bike takes forever to warm up. but nothing else wrong. unexpected for a 22 year old bike that was had for $900 Smiley
