The 45 is bias ply and the 016 radial. It'll work but feel odd at speed!

Tyre design has come on a very long way since 1989 - of course it has. Especially in radial tyres; anyone on supersports rubber of 1989 would cream their pants at the grip of a lowly sport-touring tyre from this year's range.

Depending on your age in the late 70,s early 80,s Pirelli brought out the "Phantoms" at the time
(79)I was running a modified cb400-4sohc, superdream front, -double disk-comstar wheel and the rear comstar wheel,rearsusspension was by Marzzochi Strada units, and belive me the level of grip was phenominal dry/wet  only downer was rear youd be lucky to getover1.5k out of it, My only pity is that they dont make them any more to 70,s-80,s specs, if they did then I would deffo put a seton the cb1......
