Like some of you out there, I'm a bit of a 'wide-body' and found the stock CB-1 mirrors to be pretty useless.  Same problem with my GB500, only it was even worse!  I fitted small bar-ends to my GB but the CB-1 has its bars a little further back and I wanted something easier to look at.

I've been running a pair of black Honda CT-90/110 stalk mirrors on my '79 CBX since the OEM CBX mirrors are quite expensive and are nearly identical in appearance to the CT mirrors.  My CBX has much wider handlebars than the CB-1, so I swapped mirrors to see what would happen.  Turns out the CT mirrors work perfectly!  They have long, slender stalks that get the mirror out beyond your elbows and rear visibility is great.  For you guys who don't want the mirrors to extend beyond the handgrips, you can just swivel the stalks forward enough to get them to fit as you wish.  Cost for OEM CT90/110 mirrors is about $18/ea (for black, $18/pair for chrome) from Beatrice Cycle online, or through Ebay.  Just be sure to get the ones with the 10mm thread size.  Some earlier CT's had an 8mm thread.

Eric

ps  I don't have any pics of the mirrors on the CB-1 as yet, but here's a shot of them on my CBX to give you an idea of what they look like.

I think that in this case, form is definitely following function.
I found some mirrors on eBay that are almost perfect replicas of the originals (metal casing too, not plastic) for <£25. Bought, fitted, happy. They don't include the vibration damper of the original and the chrome is only maybe 8/10 but otherwise are very good.

Don't hold it all in Falk Cheesy Those look like the same mirrors that I had on my CT70 years ago. They do offer a better view, but IMHO they do come up short on style points.

Yeah well - for me Style counts.
So I bought my Bike 2 nice Magazzi-Mirrors in Flat Black including the E-Number German TÜV likes so much.

Just havin some fun Falk Wink I agree with the looks are as important as functionality. Those mirrors you picked up look pretty slick! You can adjust them quite a bit it looks like.
I am still trying to fit some bar end mirrors to mine, just been too lazy to get around to it Embarrassed
