I have a spare motor with only 1300 miles on it that I obtained cheap when I bought my CB-1.  Unfortunately, the donor bike was dropped and the alternator and cover was damaged.  The motor came with a spare clutch/alternator cover but the stator is damaged and NLA from Honda.  I've noticed 2 places in Germany on Ebay showing replacement stators but the dimensions are not quite correct, unless I'm misunderstanding their description.  My OEM stator has an outer diameter of 92mm, inner diameter of 35mm and is approximately 33.5mm in thickness across the windings.  The Ebay stator says it's 92mm x 35mm x 18mm.  I'm not sure what the 18mm refers to, hence my question here:  Does anyone have any experience with the German CB-1 stators?  Anyone have another source for them?

I'd like to be able to repair my spare engine to make it a runner and the only part I still need is the stator.  Thanks for your help.

Hi,

they are currently not in stock, but usually available from here:
http://www.electrexworld.co.uk/g17-generator-944-0.html

This also gives you a compatibility chart for more-common models.

Dumb question - isn't it still possible that the alternator in the crashed motor is OK?

Thanks for the replys guys.  The stator is actually crushed where the corner of the motor hit a curb.

I've just bought an Electrexworld replacement stator for my VFR and it is almost half the size of the original one. it's the correct fitment though.

Thanks.  I've sent them several emails but haven't had a response yet.  Will continue to try to contact them.

Just an FYI for anyone in the states. Ricks Motorsport Electronics will rebuild your old one.
