Why hello everyone. I posted an ad looking for a cb1 on the forum and after a month of patience, found one on CGL!
I was so stoked about it that I bought the bike the very following day!

But sadly there is a downside. It doesn't run.  Sad
The bike is apparently out of the DMV's system and needs to be checked by the CHP.
It's very run down and the previous owner took horrible care of such an amazing bike.
Missing bolts, rusted tank, cracked rear fender, bad bad everything.

But hopefully I plan to change that.  Wink

I need help on replacing many of the parts. New tank, rear fairings, bolts, mirrors, etc.
So please if you have extra parts, I'll be willing to pay for them.
I'd really like to get this CB1 back on it's feet and running.  Cheesy

Welcome Welcome!  You surely have a project.  Yes, it needs some love!  I suggest searching thru old threads/posts, and contact whomever may have what you need.  Keep ups posted

Welcome. It's hard to tell from the photo's but it doesn't look too bad, but then mines ridden enough miles to have come from Japan by road, and has lived most of its life outside since arriving in the UK in '93.
Look on the bright side, its a fun and fairly easy bike to work on and parts are reasonably inexpensive. There is enough experience on here to get any job done with a workshop manual and some basic knowledge.
Hope you enjoy the ride, keep us posted with the restoration,

Phil. Grin

Thanks a lot guys. Smiley

So far I've taken the gas tank, air filter, drained and removed the radiator, and rerouted the wires off to a side.

Next step, removing the carbs and the engine. Tongue

I'm soooo excited!

That's all I've got so far. But working 6 days a week isn't that much help either Sad
But I plan to sand blast the frame as well as any other gunk the previous owner spray painted.

Anyone know where I can get a rebuild kit for the carbs and perhaps the engine as well?
If I'm gonna redo the whole bike, might as well not half ass it right? Smiley

Also any suggestions on a new rear cowl? The one I currently have is cracked in two areas.

This is my first time working on a motorcycle so any help, advice, and suggestions would be awesome! Cheesy

Seat fairings are all but unobtainable. Use a soldering iron as a welding torch and zip ties as rod and melt the two halves together. If any part are missing you can use legos or zip toes to build it up. Or go find out about plastex I hear that's very good.

Look after the cam cover rubber gasket/seal, they're pretty hard to get hold of nowadays.

Keep us posted Wink
