im just building this, its a work in progress. It obviously is lacking almost all the body work, missing the tach.. but it pulls 50 hp, its my first bike, and i'm quite happy with it.

nice results! does the bike need a steering damper on the track? That short pipe has some effect on your torque I suspect Smiley

Is there someting different in US? Maybe some Restrictions ore so?
Because at Wikipedia.org I found the Power with 44hp and 33kw - german Wikipeida says 57hp (so nearly  that what i know from my Bike)

57 actual rear wheel bhp? Has anyone from Germany really got a printout showing that figure from a CB-1? I think we are looking at an example of ambitious Wiki editors here. I think it particularly unlikely since the cbr400 usually dynoes 55-60 with its more aggressive cam, 4-2-1 exhaust, bigger jets etc.

I think 45 is about right on a standard bike. 50 is not bad at all depending on the work done.

ahhh - htis is not a corrected Dyno Sheet showing Clutch Power and Wikipedia.org is speaking about rearwheel power?...

Yes, the short pipe has an effect on the hp, but another thing done is that holes were drilled in the airbox, we did a dyno test with the holes taped up and without tape, which is shown on the sheet. We lifted the tank with a spacer and took off the tape, which had an effect on the hp as well. I will race this bike with CMRA, Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association. Same place where Ben Spies and Collin Edwards are from. The steering damper is a requirement in the CMRA rules, and we were pleased with the effect the pipe had on torque, it had no noticeable negative effect.
