I have a center stand w/all the trimmings for sale.  I purchased these parts from Honda before I noticed there is no mounting point on my frame!  Has anyone else encountered this?

Also, I'm looking for an exhaust if you can recommend something.  The pipes that are on it are hideous.  This is my first moto and changing oil is the extent of my mechanical skills, so it would need to be something simple.

Thanks!
Scott - Seattle, WA

Hi Scott,

I never heard of there being no mounting point. The only reason would be that, since the pivots tend to seize if not maintained, the one on your bike did seize, and the previous owner cut it off. If it does seize the holes go oval, it's not really fixable.

US California bikes did not have the center stand mount since it's location was needed for the charcoal cannister.

I think $150USD would be fair, but shipping to Cambridge could be another $150!

Thanks both for the info.  In fact, there is a canister where the mounting point should be.  Any advice on replacing the exhaust and muffler?  It dosen't mount to the engine block right; some of the retainers at the cylinder are bent (maybe from being overtightened) and exhaust leaks from the connection.

Thanks!

Cheers Scott, I'm tempted and the little "NOS devil" on my shoulder knows what to do but, as you mention, with post it'd be a bit too much for me I'm afarid. Thanks anyway, Drew.
