~~ WTB: Fuel Pump ~~

Apparently it was the fuel pump that caused the low compression issue.   

I've been told the bike can't be ridden on the street without a working fuel pump.   

Anyone have one for my '89 CB1?

I've read that you can open the electrical end of the pump and repair the points in there.  DavidSilverSpares in the U.K. sells a set of replacement points if they can't be cleaned up enough.

I believe the OEM pump may be available from Honda but it's expensive.  I'd be tempted to try a small electric fuel pump from an auto parts store for about $30 to see if that would work.

Apparently there are quite a few other Honda models that will work or use the same pump. Do a quick search on the site, there are several threads about it.

The second statement is not true, although it's not the recommended way to go. If it's from the same source, you have to ask yerself - "is the first statement true"?

I've been riding mine without a fuel pump for over 9000 miles with no problems.
The lowest point of the tank is above the float level. All I did was to install an F3 fuel valve to direct the fuel line towards the crabs instead of having to make a U-turn.
