Get 10 litres of malt vinegar, or white pickling vinegar (some call spirit vinegar) do NOT get any that say non brewed condiment  what you want is at least 5% acetic content....trim a cork to shove in petcock mounting outlet then before tapping in lightly cover cork with a bit of plastic bag or freezer bag..........pour in the  vinegar.........leave for 24 hours decant vinegar into containers via the now un-pluged outlet, (vinegar will be still good for rust removal of any metal parts) get a baby's bottle washing brush or a toilet brush and get rid of left residue, once  done you,l think you've had the tank internally plated ..

What's your budget? I've seen some great condition ones in Japan recently and I can get it posted straight to you in the States.

Wow: 10,000 yen is about $130!

Although shipping from Japan might be a little pricey!

Drew, what is your Japanese connection?  Do you travel there often, or... ?

I have a couple of mates overe there, I'm always picking up 2 stroke parts for people, it's become a bit of a hobby Grin

Shipping on the tank alone from Jp would have been about £50 GBP. I really wish I had bought the bloomin' thing Angry
