I had sun-faded gauge faces and installed the overlays from
www.newtacho.de as mentioned in
this thread.
I didn't have too much difficulty with the process and believe the speedo and tach needles are in their original position -- when you remove the stopper pin, you can mark the position where the needle comes to rest.
However the temperature gauge is a different matter and I'm sure I screwed up - with a cold engine I turn on the ignition and the needle jumps to mid-range...

So I could just move it a few degrees but does anyone have a suggestion how I could make it accurate again?
P.S. I have mixed feeling about the gauge faces: I got the black OEM0style ones and KM scale to convert my US-bike to Canadian measurements. (heh, Odometer is still in miles though

) However, as Samuichris noted, they illuminate very poorly in the dark (the base material is opaque, not translucent, so the white markings don't allow much light through), and because the material is quite thick, the stopper pins are almost impossible to remount securely.
