I'm selling my 1989 Honda CB-1.

Bike is stock and has 8900 miles on it. It's in fantastic condition and is often mistaken for a near-new bike.  Bike currently resides in Vancouver BC, Canada, and was imported by a previous owner from Portland OR.

Freshly rebuilt front master cylinder, brake pads, brake fluid flush, oil / filter just changed, near-new Bridgestone Battlax BT45 tires, bike needs absolutely nothing and is ready to ride. I bought this bike last summer for $3400 CDN.  Asking $3000 CDN.  Email me at imivan at telus dot net.  You can see my ad on Craigslist here -

Thanks for the compliments. I reluctantly need to sell as i have two bikes and only room for one. I think it's a bit of a time capsule, and I'm sure I'll regret selling it before too long!

Here's a photo of the other side -

My other bike is a 2006 Honda CBR600RR.  It's funny riding these bikes back to back.  Spending an hour on the CBR gives you a whole new level of appreciation for the comfort offered by the CB-1.  Surprisingly, the CBR fairings don't provide a whole heck of a lot more protection from the wind than the CB-1.  Also surprisingly, while the CBR is clearly quicker, the CB-1 does not feel like a bike with less than half the horsepower.  But the dual front discs on the CBR do provide much better braking.

Did you say you wanted to see one more photo?

Back in '06, I took a bone stock '05 CBR600RR to the track along with my CB-1.  Riding both bikes was very interesting to say the least.  On the 600, I felt like I was sitting on top of the bike, kinda like over the front wheel.  It feels like Im sitting "in" my CB-1.  I started out on the 600.  After a few sessions, I came in and jumped on the 1 and thought what the heck!!!  It took a few laps for the muscle memory confusion to leave me.  The newer/higher  sensation of speed on the RR was very nice though!

p.s.  err....umm....nice lookin bike you got there.  Is that a 916sp???

I couldn't agree more.  I feel like I'm perched on top of the CBR vs inside / a part of the CB-1.

That's my friend's Ducati 848.  It's very fun to ride, and sounds amazing.  My CBR is below.

Focus people!  Anyone interested in buying a CB-1?

That,s something I've never been able to get used to 100% - not just on the CB-1 but other bikes that you sit "in" too. I put it down to learning to ride on "ironing board" type bikes. Maybe I should check out a CBR600RR Tongue

Raid3n - I'm actually in Burnaby as well. Sure, you can come see the bike sometime.

Drewski - yup, the CBR600RR is pretty cool.  The two bikes are just so totally different, it's hard to compare them.  I do get way more compliments on the CB1 than the CBR, from people who know their bikes.

Hey there,
Yup, the bike is still for sale.  It's in my heated basement resting for the winter.  I just installed new spark plugs and flushed the coolant the other day.  Where are you located?
