1989 Honda CB-1
Has Kirker high mount exhaust, Penske racing rear shock, steering stabilizer, clip-ons, bar end mirrors,.. etc
Needs some TLC, keep reading for all info on my bike.

http://worcester.craigslist.org/mcy/2595408107.html

I'm trying to pass on as much info about the bike as I can.

The title is stamped "recovered theft, true mileage unknown",
the prior owner told me this is because the gauge housing was busted during the
theft. I have the original gauge housing, but I put the gauges into a new
housing.  The gauges all still work, including mileage which reads 3,6xx miles,
and I was told by the prior owner that the mileage is original.  I purchased the
bike with 1,6xx on it back in 2009, the prior owner told me the bike was stolen
from him in 1991 with 1,200 miles, when recovered he decided to turn it into a
road race bike, but never made it to the races. The bike sat for years before I got it.
But I have no way of knowing for sure what the mileage is.

The bike has been modified with the intent of racing, but I was told it was
never raced. I have some of the parts that where removed (original handles, trim
panels, honda service manual,.. etc). The rear pegs are gone, the tank has small
dents (clean inside), the rear fairing/fender are cracked and cut up.

During a ride in the fall 2010, the engine started "skipping" on a 90 degree day
an hour into the ride. After the bike sat and cooled for a day, it started and
ran fine.  I thought it could be the coils, so I replaced the coils with a used
set.  The bike ran the rest of the fall, through spring riding, then again on a
hot day in May it did the same thing, and the bike has sat since.  Now the gas
has gone bad, and the carbs need to be gone through.

I have thoughts of what could be wrong, but haven't gotten to working on the
bike (bad ground, gas evaporating, gas pump over heating (I have a new fuel
pump), etc...).

This bike is a great project, get back to a rider or finish into a track day
bike. If it's not sold soon, I'm going to tinker with it over the winter.

Still for sale, anyone interested?  Make an offer!
I just found a different winter project, and no room for two.
I have photos, but this site isn't letting me upload them.
