I have a nice one here, new rubber no major damage, never dropped. It is in excellent condition with 10k miles and needs only a carb clean and tune to get her going. I can assist with shipping if need be. I'd like to get 2800.00 for it. Call me or email me for pics--Tim 612-226-3833  timhoekstra@comcast.net

Out of curiosity, have you checked the NADA/Kelly value of a CB-1 lately? I ask because you're asking about $1000 more than Kelly and about $1500 more than NADA, for retail pricing (i.e. NOT a trade-in value but the price in a dealership or from a private seller).

The only CB-1s I've seen go for more than $2000 were either already buffed up (jets, pipe) or were being sold in California. I suggest you post an eBay auction and direct any readers here to it. That will maximize your exposure and chance to command such a price.

(FYI, in my area, you'd be lucky to get $1500 for it.)

Congratulations on the sale. Looks like the bikes are climbing in value everywhere.
Where are you located David Artman? If you can pick up CB-1's there for as little as $1500 for a good one there could be a good profit in it for you with a little work. Grin

I'm in North Carolina.

I got my 89 CB-1 for $1200, though it *is* a bit track-worn (some dinged motor parts, cracked rear plastic) and modded (CB600F headlight, clip-ons, AutoMeter gauges).

In fact... I might be selling it in the near future (2 to 3 months) when I decide to step up to a newer 600 (F4i?). I love the little bugger... but it's just not enough bike for me in the long run. Better if a true fanatic got it and brought it back to 100%.

You cant go by the Nada/kelly value for a CB1.  These bikes were rare in the 90's.  If you can find one today thats in good shape I have seen them go for double.  If its in real good shape with low miles I have seen them sell for more than what they cost new.  I am a die hard fan of these bikes, there is nothing on the market that handles like them.  I love my zx7rr, but these 400 4cyl are amazing!!!!
