I'd like to get an exhaust and rear shock for my 1.

I am most interested in a shock with ride height adjustment, e.g. Fox, Penske, Ohlins etc.   I'd also be interested in full exhaust systems. Pretty rare parts for a pretty rare bike, but one can hope.

Thanks '
Adam

You couldnt go wrong with any of the shocks that you listed.  Check their websites or give them a call.

With regards to a perfomance exhaust system... you may hit the lottery first!  There were only a few performance systems made for the 1.  Ontario Moto Tech/Sudco was the best made for the 1.  Kerker was a good one.  You will probably find a Kerker before you find an OMT.  If you know of a good muffler shop, see if they could make you one...

Best an most likely plan is to chop the original can and get a link pipe made up. Cut low to remove the mid pipe Restrictor / baffle!

Cheaper way to find out, is do the conversion get bike warm then give it a good thrashing at 3/4 throttle in top gear pull in clutch then kill engine straight away with run/off switch then look at plugs if within good colour then your ok probably if not then try a hotter grade set of plugs in the above mode....

I decided to have Jamie Daurety http://www.daughertymotorsports.com/ make me up a shock.  He's done work for me before and is a specialist on early VFRs which were also linkless. He's cost effective too. He's going to rebuild a Fox for me an spring and valve it to my spec. I would higly reccomend him.

He did a pair of forks for my SV650 that have CBR F3 uppers in my SV lowers that worked out great.  Adjustable cartridge damping but I got to use my own wheel and brakes. I wouldn't want to visually alter my -1 much. I love it for the classic it is.

My last -1 had a Sudco on it but I can live without a pipe.  You're right, a rarer part for a rare bike isn't likely to show up anytime soon.

Thanks for the tip about the exhaust.  I emailed her.

Jamie is doing my shock for $400. That's totally rebuilt and sprung/valved for my weight. The old Foxes were great shocks overbuilt and triple adjustable, compression, rebound and damping. Most, mine included are ride height adjustable.
