I have a blue CB1 that I think I’m going to have to part ways with. The Bike has never been set down, and only has 17,000 miles on it. It’s been the best motorcycle I’ve ever owned but it has given up the ghost. sadly last month It threw an engine rod.
If there is anyone reading this message anywhere in AMERACA who has a working Engine or a parts bike with a working engine for a Honda CB1 I would love to buy it from you. If anyone reading this has a lead on a engine please email me at Mrjohnnyglass@gmail.com. I’ve been looking for a new engine for two months now with no luck. The Bike has brand new tire, new lights and instrument panel bulbs. One small split in the seat, the back blinker arm mounts have both broke but the blinks still work, and very little rust on the frame. Everything else is in great shape. I’m willing to part the thing out if no one responds in the next week with an engine offer and if I get enough people wanting parts off it. Otherwise I’d prefer to sell the bike as a whole for 750$. Please feel free to make an inquire, offer, or proposal. I’m entertaining any reasonable ideas.

Thanks for reading

-John

JohnnyCB1,

Have you considered looking for an early 600 Hurricane engine to swap out?
There is usually two or three on E-bay at any one time.
It might be an easier swap then what I did and not that far off in horsepower.
Just a thought.

What's your budget for a replacement motor?  I happen to have one with about 1300 miles on it that I purchased along with my CB-1 from a guy who bought the motor for a spare.  Unfortunately, the original donor bike was laid over on a curb and the right side clutch/alt housing was damaged.  I have a used replacement along with a spare crankcase and full crank since there was some damage to the crank end.  I have about $900 in the motor/case/crank and likely won't need it for my CB.

Hey gang, looks like I *might* part this thing out, as the engine I had sourced fell through. PM with interest, or just shoot me an email.

I may have a line on an engine for you.  Waiting for an email reply.

I had a spare motor when I sold my 89 a few years back.  It went with the bike, but I still know the guy I sold it to.

Thanks for that - but I've decided to part her out. Have her mostly tore down at the moment...PM if interested in parts (some have made it up onto ebay already).

Could I talk you out of a right side engine piece (the little nylon/Aluminum slider bit, part 2 here http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb400f-cb-1-usa_model1010/partslist/E++05.html)

and if you don't mind the throttle tube.

Yeah, they're just little bitty parts that are a pain to replace, but let me know if you want to sell in chunks or pieces. I'm also considering new to me throttle housing, income depending.
