My 89 CB has a "wobble" in the front wheel.  It first started by exhibiting a periodic drag or "tick sound" and I noticed that the rotor was "nicking" the caliper.  Initially, the symptoms made me think that the rotor was warped, I was just going to replace it, then I started to feel the front end "shift" when cornering. After I was able to get the front tire off the ground, I found that the left side of the hub (or the side opposite the caliper) was "loose" and causing the wheel to wobble, thereby causing the rotor to sometimes hit the caliper.    I'm afraid to ride the thing until I get this fixed!

Any ideas on how I can "tighten up" that hub - or does something need replaced like the bearings?

It sounds like a bearing gone bad. Take the wheel off and feel the bearing by hand. If its not tight, replace both of them in the wheel. Definitely don't ride it until its fixed. Too dangerous!

I took it apart and the bearings literally fell out in pieces.  What was left in the wheel had corroded to the aluminum and I had to cut the parts of one old bearing out with a Dremmel.  I don't know how the thing ran without locking up on me.  I'm glad I parked it until I took a look.  Thanks for the reply.

BTW - I replaced both wheel bearings and the difference is noticable - its a solid ride again!

Man, good thing it held together while you were riding it before. Fell out in pieces? lol, scarey! Glad you got a solid ride again.
