It seems there is a lot of fixing to be done on this bike and as much as I love it I am getting a little tired of the frequent unexpected brake down
.
Today I am unable to start my bike!  Battery looks good the lights go on but when I push the start button nothing!  I was told to put it in 2nd gear push it back and pop the clutch!  That did nothing.  I was then told to connect to wires from the battery and make a short and it should start I really didn't understand these instructions.

Can anyone help me with this?  Do I just need to replace the starter?   How does one diagnose the problem.
Here's the punch line.................I am in Thailand and often these mechanics just want to replace and not take take the time to diagnose.

Thanks for your time

Put in neutral and run a thick wire from battery + to terminal on starter. It should start spinning. That checks the starter. That's what they ment by shorting. You bypass starter relay.

I am not sure what 2nd gear with backward push and popping the clutch would do.  Roll Eyes  If you push it forward, though, and pop the clutch - it might start the motor  Wink

Thank for your help!
Can you tell me where the starter is on the bike?
I assume the wire goes from the positive terminal
to where on the starter?

Dasch,
With very limited Thai language, I got the bike fixed for 50 Bhat which is a $1.60 USD.
This mechanic loves riding my bike so an hour and a half later he's back.
There were 2 fuses that needed to be changed! probably close to the starter I guess.

So after being in the house all day.  I ride tomorrow!

Thanks again for your help!
