Hey guys. Today I've had my chain and sprockets fitted with D. I. D products: my -1 was previously fitted with a 16 tooth front and a 40 tooth rear, the new set is a 15 tooth front and a 37 tooth on the rear. Now, hears the gutting thing, it turns out the new chain is too long!!! Just, how?!? And would a bigger rear sprocket cure this? Would appreciate some help and advice, my friends.

As you've now got smaller sprockets, I guess the chain would be too long. Just remove a couple of links.

Smaller tooth sprocket front/rear will be short chain than 16/40     as said remove some links..

OK, bigger front sprocket- smaller rear, will give you a faster top speed if the output of the engine is able to produce the bhp/torque needed, but acceleration would be compromised.

Bigger rear sprocket from standard will give faster acceleration but lower top speed....don't think that as a smaller front sprocket and big rear will give you 2 secs to 60 it could in fact make the engine bog down completable if I was going up 1tooth bigger at front I would drop 2 or 3 on the rear.

If I was dropping 1 tooth at front I'd go 3 to 4 larger on rear, its always a trade off of any of the following,   acceleration/top speed/drive-ability/ fuel used..
