hi everyone i have just bought my cb1 sold a x7 to get it and just joined the forum. so down to the nitty gritty, i would like to change the clipons to bars. i am finding that the clipons are putting a bit to much weight on the wrists plus i like the sit up stance like the superfour. so can anyone give me some help thanks.

It looks wrong. And the bike is small so when I tried it I found I was sat up too high in comparison to the rearsets. I am 5'10" with about a 33" inseam.

Consider vfr800 clip ons.

I put fireblade forks on. They are shorter than cb1 forks so can't put clip ons above the yokes. Decided to try flat bars instead using bolt in risers. Jus didn't like the look or feel. But I am lots taller than you (I'm a bloke) so my experience won't mean too much for you.

The look is also a personal thing but I woul prefer higher clip ons than straight bars. One reason is you have to put the forks up about 30mm to fit bars so it actually raises the front. This is bad for handling and maybe bad for you with being petite.  And it looks wrong and also makes the main stand useless and side stand less useful.

The problem is your cables won't reach.

Oh sorry i didn't realise you'd have cable problems, you'll have to consider all your cables ie electric wires cables etc.

There's a few of us on here that have done this mod.The only changes I had to make were a braided front brake hose approx 2 inches longer than standard and I had to re-route the clutch cable under the air box.

I used a top yoke of a super four and it fitted straight on no problem.

Check the gallery on here for pics of peoples bikes with handlebars m8.

The MKII CB-1 has higher bars so even Honda came to their senses. I've just done a conversion on my VFR as the riding position was total pants, there should be plenty of used VFR clip ons around as it's quite common for owners to swap to the 43mm VTEC front end:-
