ok thanks i'll keep looking, no rush though i've got all winter. I was checking out the bikes on the photo gallery, what a suprise i had when i spotted my recently purchased cb1. I bought it from greenstiles, seems a nice bloke. looking further on the forum it seems a lot of you have helped him quite a bit so i now what has been done to the bike. its not the best looking bike in the world but a great ride. supurb handling and that revvy motor! seems like i am doing 120 but really doing about 80. my x7 looked great went like stink but handling was rubbish. before that was a zeyphr 550 steering was very quick, gpz 500 not keen on twins, a gpz305 boring and a lot more going right back to my rd 250e back in 1980 now that was fun. like i say there's been a few inbetween as well gpz550 gpz600 gs550 gs750 but i might stick with this one for a bit. I might be 5' 2" but i'm a proper bloke as well, happy days.

I installed the spiegler sport bar kit this week and it is the best thing I have done to the bike other than new tires. I'm 6'1 and the new bars let me stretch out a bit and make it much more comfy.   I spend much more time on my KTM 250xc dirt bike so this is the riding position I'm more comfortable with. Now I'm working on a way to get some Brembo brakes on the Honda so it brakes like the KTM. Wink

I looked at the Spiegler kits for the VFR but they're grosely overpriced new and foul the fairing. Manufacturers seem to think anything made out of billet gives you the right to charge whatever you want. Once the CAD drawing is done, they,re knocked out in a matter of seconds so I don't know where they get their prices from  Roll Eyes

Are you aware spiegler also do a brake adapter kit allowing you to fit a brembo caliper off eg. a 916 Ducati? Works well with brembo 13mm master but that fouls the handle cluster pod. Try with a 1/2" nissin master cylinder and you could have a winner.

Dunno if the CB-1 kit is the same but the kit for the VFR just looks like this:-

With a set of bars, they'll relieve you of about £350 Shocked

The clip ons are like these:-

I've got to admit that I'm not a big fan of companies like Spiegler. IMO they have monopolised on the vanity that seems to have inflicted yer modern day weekend biker and expoited it to the full for their own greedy ends. If people stopped patronising these companies, the prices will go down. It's just a block of alluminium that has been stuck in a machine for 90 seconds not the holy grail - probably bought out of house from China anyhow.

i have looked at the spiegler kit on there web site it does look good, it comes with longer brake hose as well, but as you say well over priced, i have bought complete bikes for less. I have just bought a top yoke off ebay it came from a cb400 the old one not the superfour. the seller had it on his cb1 but wanted to go back to clip ons. I haven't fitted it yet weekend job but it looks like it will fit straight on, could do with some bars now!
