Hi, just wanted to introduce myself, Brad from Madison, Wisconsin, USA here.  Just purchased a '89 CB-1 from a dealer in Colorado, should be here in a couple days!  I am a longtime motorcycle rider, lots of Hondas and time spent on HawkGT site (MadHawk) and SuperHawk forums (SuperHen), decided it was time for another classic rare Honda.  Now if I could just get my hands on a GB500 someday...Ha-ha.  I'm hoping to help contribute to the forum.

My bike arrived from Denver in one piece, a little scuffed in a few spots, but I'll get her cleaned up.  I'll try to post a photo here:

That's all original parts Drewski, except for the brakeline.  As far as the pipe, yeah, I'll probably be contacting you about how to get one of those SS header/mufflers later this year (when I have $), they sure look sweet!  I also found this one, but really have no idea how the buying works.  Check it out, it looks to be a very well made unit:

The OEM Jap pipes are well made and sound very good but they're a one piece unit which means that even though they go quite cheap in Japan, they cost a small fortune in post. I'd be a bit wary of some of the aftermarket pipes. Most are made in Korea or China and are bit "shoddy". Do you like that "bowed out" shape of the headers? The japanese sometimes show an "eclectic", (for want of a better word), style when it comes to bikes.

Wow, that's really good info Drewski, thanks, hadn't even thought about the 1-piece shipping being in a huge box and pricey.  I agree about the cheap metals coming from some countries, see it a lot on ebay for pegs and levers.  That exhaust you posted is exactly what I want!  How do I get it and how much!?

If you can find out the weight, (might be on here somewhere), I'll have a go at working out how much it would cost to post from Japan to The States. I did weigh mine once but all I remember was that it weighed more than twice what the Kerker weighs. I got the Kerker from Japan but that splits in two and it was before the global crash when you got good yen for your £.

12000yen is about $160 US, on top of that you'd have to pay the agents fee, ($20), post in Japan and to The States. If I had the dimensions and weight, I can work it out to the nearest $20 US.

Am I right in presuming that you wouldn't have to pay and tax or duty?
