Hi,I found this site today!

Years ago when I started riding I remember the CB1 really appealed to me.The bike had only been out for a year or 2 when I started riding in 1990.Now that I am a bit older and much more established I am going to start to look for one to start a small collection of bikes perhaps maybe in 2006/07.I need to learn a bit about them and am an avid motorcyclist so I thought I'd join this site.

I really enjoy the 1990 Blue CB1 and that is what I am looking for in particular. So that particular model must have a certain code or model # I would imagine.I believe it came out in 1989 here in Canada, but am wondering when it was discontinued?

Any stats would be appreciated on this bike and mechanical things to be aware of when purchasing?

So where is this site based out of,looks like somewhere in the UK?I've been there and love it.The beach in Newqueay rocks!!!!!

Thanks for your time gentlemen,

Hello and welcome to the site.

I'm unsure as to the release of the CB-1 in Canada, but here in the US, it was only available 89-90 and only in blue. The color of the CB-1 logo on the fuel tank went from black to red during those two years. The CB-1 was available for a few more years in Japan in various colors and then became the CB400SF (super four) as it is today. The bike is a grey import in the UK, meaning it's not officially imported by Honda and done so by 3rd parties.

If you want specs, check out this article:

I'll be posting some more in a future section on the site. Just haven't had the time.

Troublesome areas when buying a CB-1 appear to be the regulator which can cause a battery to overheat and spill it's guts on the swingarm causing rust. A redesigned unit is available from Honda and also fits a number of other bikes, too. So availability is good. That's the only thing I've had a problem with, except the fuel pump. That went out at the same time as my regulator.

BTW, this site is based out of Florida, USA. The CB-1 is more popular in other countries than it is in the US, so I wanted the site to appeal to all.

Hi thanks for your reply.

Yah I noticed the black writing to red writing on the tank, now I understand and was also wondering what years we had them. Here in Canada it was the same I'm sure,2 years of production. No wonder they are hard to find.

Have a good weekend and I will chat with you later!
