some sort of frame slider or case saver type bolt on. This bike will be a gift for a newbie. I expect the side to touch the ground once or twice.

Any one know where I can score a stock rear fender. The previous owner of mine did a real hack job on the fender. I want the stock rear signals back. I don't like the tiny blinkers.

Thanks guys   Grin

These bars are great. They were available on ebay almost all the time. (from Belgium) About $100 U.S. shipped. Keep an eye out and you may be able to pick up a set. JAMA is the brand name.

They fit well.
As for the fender, I suggest the same. Keep an eye on ebay. There has been quite a bit of CB-1 stuff on there recently.

still havent found a fender. or the bars.

how about the "thumbtrap"

At full lock the handgrip pins my thumb against the tank. Has any one ever knocked those tabs off that prevent the stock clip ons from being rotated out for clearance?

I never noticed any problem with clearance on the tank. Mine has about a minimum of one inch when at full lock. If you have less than that maybe your stops for the triple got bent or knocked off?

As far as removing the locator pins, I think it should be no problem at all as aftermarket clip-ons have no locator.

no luck on any fronts. I think I'll go with HeliBars. They make an adjustable set for the 41mm forks.

I'm striking out on the case savers and the fender Sad

You could also consider a set of VFR bars. They are similar design to the CB-1's with more height. Are the HeliBars raised? Most of the aftermarket ones I have seen are flat so would end up even lower than the originals.

I'll be using the HeliBars for the VFR application and they do not specificaly list the CB1 in the applicable models list. The Helibars are a sport touring product and are higher and wider.

I'll post back when I have more money Smiley and let you know how it went.
