I know that the CB-1 does not come with a fuel level gauge (or my model hasn't got one).  Can one be fitted or would I have to get a new tank made up?

Brian.

P.S. I know I would have to fit a level sensor.

Is keeping track of the miles/Kilometers really that hard?Isn't that what a trip meter is for?

I think it would be more of a pain than it's worth to retrofit one from another bike. I've never heard of anything like that in the after market. I know you can get those thermally reactive strips that you stick to propane tanks to see the level. I dunno, engine heat might mess it up though.

I am looking to fit a new clock/dial set to the bike and I was just thinking of some things that I could do to "upgrade" so to speak.  I was looking at some of the sets and I might go for a digital set.  And because most of them have a fuel level it got me thinking.  The one below does not have a fuel level.

What do you think?

I've not made my mind up as yet.

Brian.

I've thought about fitting a fuel level sender before. I've got a Suzuki one and as far as I know, all you'd need to do to fit it to the tank is drill a hole and weld a shallow nut on for the sender to screw into. Not sure how easy it wiould be to calibrate it tho.

REgina: Check out the "Koso" web site for aftermarket clocks, I bought the ones below a while back and was pretty impressed with the quality, a lot of other makes I've seena are a bit "Mickey Mouse". The nicest looking aftermarket gauges i've seen are made in Germany, I think the company is called "Motogadget", they're not the standard type as above tho but another console type.
