Hey Guys. Been lurking here a while and searching for a CB-1 for the last 8 months. Finally found and bought one last week. Being shipped here next week. VERY Happy.

Anyway, I'm wondering if there are any other Canadians around here?

Also been lurking.  I'm in Vancouver BC.  Bought my CB-1 in October.  I must admit that the first time I'd heard of the CB-1 was when I saw the ad on Craigslist.  When I looked up the bike online, I knew I had to have it.

It's actually in storage right now, but should be coming out within a week!

London, Ontario for me. Had my CB-1 for getting on to two years and I am still really happy with it. In the past few weeks there have been two of them for sale on kijiji very close to here. (St Thomas and Goderich) Was it one of those you bought, Regina CB-1? I bought mine off ebay from Gibsons, just a short ferry ride from Vancouver B.C. and had it shipped here.

Edit: Damn you Torpesco, out in a week? Tongue We had about 10" of snow yesterday! Only thing out around here will be the snowblower. Grin
cptseawolf, maybe we can hook up at one of the Fri. the 13th meets at Port Dover. I try to make it down to all of them.

Actually I tried to buy both of the ones in your neigbourhood. 1 guy wanted $4000 which was too much considering it costs $1000 to ship. The other guy decided not to sell his just before I contacted him to make an offer - he had an internship change dates on him and needs the bike for the summer now.

The one I bought was from Montreal. Being shipped here soon. Can't wait.

Heh. I am a Canadian but I am still looking for a CB-1. I passed on the ones on Vancouver Craigslist in 2007. The listed prices where $1k over the North American norms. The market is not completely irrational given high shipping costs. Hopefully I will find one this year. I am interested in the shipping companies Canadian folks have experience with.

I had mine shipped from Vancouver to London, ON. in May 06 and was very pleased with the service. Allied Van lines have had a number of special pallets purpose built to ship bikes and use them as fillers on partial loads. It took two weeks for the bike to arrive but it was in perfect shape and the cost was about $900 Can. They ship pretty much anywhere. We dropped the bike at their Vancouver depot and I picked it up at their London depot.

Ya MONO, I found that prices were/are quite a bit higher in canada than in the u.s. but I wanted to avoid the paperwork etc. I also used allied van lines. It's been allright dealing with them so far...but I don't have my bike yet so we'll see.
Where are you from anyway?

That's it? 4 Canadians. No one from the great SK. Well if anyone's ridin through let me know. I can show you our twisty road (actually it's a slight curve in the superstore parking lot, but it does bend, only the speed limit is 20km/h, but it feels fast and furious). Then we can take in a Rider game.

I'm the guy from Goderich Ontario with the CB1 for sale.  Cant seem to part with it.  Keep coming up with excuses not to sell.  The reason these bikes are more expensive in Canada than the states is because their are fewer of them.  Law of supply and demand.  Their collector status is gaining each year.  Their an engineering marvel, way ahead of their time.

We had really nice weather last week, almost took the cover off mine and started....  but I didnt.  cant wait for spring.

I'm from Kitchener, Ontario and have had my CB1 for a year, as of this June. I love the bike and actually started mine up last sunday. I didn't get to ride it though i have to fix my front wheel bearing. Anyways i have never been to the Port Dover meets but maybe i'll go this year. It looks like a good time.

Ok, seems like there are a few of us in the southern Ontario area. Maybe we could have a meet and pose in Port Dover on the only Fri the 13th meet this year in June. I will definitely be there with a group of sportbikers predominantly in the London area. I know for sure that there are at least a few more around. Just have to get them fired up as well.

If you have never been to a Port Dover gathering you really missed out on a great time. Mostly Cruisers but the people watching is worth the trip. We have ridden there in freezing rain, snow, and high winds, as early as April 13th and as late as Oct 13th but I have enjoyed every trip.

I was not going to insure the CB-1 for the road this year but I just miss it too much. The new ZX6R Kawi just doesn't have the character of the CB-1. Definitely faster and better handling but maybe a little too fast to enjoy on the street. Especially with our new 50 over laws. Roll Eyes
