My cousin in Malta has a 400rr fireblade, and it had a Yoshi exaust, i am sure it would work on the CB-1???
I am going to try and get, I have a kinker pipe and it sounds great.

I think that you will find that the 400rr exhaust hits the swing arm of the CB-1 and will need to be modified to fit.

I second what clarkdw says. The reason there is a gull arm on the right side of a 400RR is to clear the exhaust.

I'm tempted to pull my entire exhaust system and have it ceramic coated either satin black to match OEM or chrome silver.

I would love to but a yoshimura can on it, but I don't know how to do this or which one to put as it seems they don't sell anything made for a CB-1 specifically.

I actually bought my '89 with a Yoshimura system on it from a CBR-600, it looks to be about mid 90's or so. I'll post pictures as I get them, it's currently at a different location having a couple gaskets looked at. Makes the bike sound like a 600 or larger, beautiful sound...

Here is a picture of the Yoshimura system on the rear-quarter, and of the right side in entirety. Ignore the seat, needs to be re-covered. >_>

Instead of spending thousands on re-ground cams, worked cylinder head etc, etc, why not just buy one of these:-

Is it just me, or does that look like a Yosh can on a stock exhaust system???  Many guys with CB-1s usually cut off the stock can, then fit any can, as long as the inlet fits over the mid pipe...

Maybe to simplify this post, you want the machine to breath as freely as possible. Being in CA, I removed all of the smog equipment (5lbs), removed the airbox and replaced with UNI filter foam filter, rejetted with a stage 1 "Factory" kit, installed a Kerker slip on canister (stock headers are tuned perfect), added a 3 degree timing advance plate and it pulls very hard to redline in every gear.
Also installed a steering damper on the left side which required that I removed that sculpted metal plate thing in front and below the tank. I machined cut outs on the right side plates for more air flow.
It has progressive suspension springs in the forks and a Works Performance rear shock. removed the center stand (8lbs). Running 120/60 Metzler front and 150/60 rear.
It has 32,000 miles of hard sport riding on coastal mountain roads south of San Francisco. Only mechanical part ever replaced was a fuel pump (other than chains, batteries and pads). Running 15/39 sprockets. Does wheelies just fine but I only weigh 130lbs.
Wow, that was fun to write all that down. CB1s are awesome!!
