Hi,
I have a problem with my cb1.It was running fine the one day and the next morning when I started it,it was miss firing and the revs were picking up very slowly. Also backfires and does not want to idle.It was serviced recently.I replaced the battery as it was going.Could it be the pulse regulator and if so,how can I test it.There is no one else's that I can borrow and very diffucult to find spares for it here in S.A.

Thanks
Armand

Manual suggests to check the following in the case of poor performance

-ignition coil
-pulse generator
-neutral switch
-spark unit
-side stand switch
-engine stop switch

I have never had this problem but if it was me I would jump out all the switches one by one as that is the cheapest checks.

If you wish, I could scan the troubleshooting pages of the manual and post them.

Is the bike low on fuel? If the fuel pump stops working it will run ok if full but not when low on fuel.

There is enough fuel in and the pump is working as I can hear it pump and stop when it has build up enough pressure.Have checked the kill switch, side stand switch and neutral switch. The bike will rev all the way up to 10 000 revs but it just takes a long time to get it there and it sounds as if it is ot running on all cylinders.
