As title says.  On average how many miles do you get per gallon on the CB-1?
Include your riding style in relation to your MPG.

Anyone know exactly how much the tank holds?

It is very much throttle position dependent. When I ride easy I can get 45mpg (U.S. gal) 55mpg (Imp gal) or even slightly better.

When I ride it like I stole it Grin The mileage goes down to a dismal 25 mpg (U.S. gal) 30mpg (Imp gal) or on at least one occasion worse. This was seen running at nearly wide open throttle for a great percentage of the time and riding at very high speed (for the CB-1) mostly in excess of 100mph.

Like the ad says, your mileage may vary. Tested under controlled conditions on a closed course by professional rider. Please do not try this at home. Side effects may include Euphoria, unending smiles and grins. Rarely nausea due to ticket related light wallet syndrome. Grin

Edit: Don't know exactly how much the tank holds. The most I have ever added is 2.96 U.S. gal, 2.42 Imp gal, 11 litre. I suspect that is very close to empty. (including the reserve)

Don't know about mpg, I've only put 9 kms on mine.

Fuel capacity = 11.5 L including a 3.5 L reserve. 8 L main tank, 3.5 Reserve, according to owners manual.

Don't have an owners manual? here's a link to the manual in .pdf format:

I found with mine that I can get almost 9 L in just at the point where I switch to reserve. I don't know whether I am overfilling the tank or my reserve is smaller than 3.5 L and I don't particularly want to find out. Don't let your tank run dry for several reasons. First that you are likely to pick up dirt from the bottom of the tank and second that the bike is a pig to get started after draining the carbs because the fuel pump only operates while there is spark ie: the engine is running or turning over. It takes a lot of turning over before you have filled up the carbs enough to get it to fire and will likely end up needing a boost to get started again after running out of fuel.

You have to remember that there are not that many CB-1s out there, let alone owners online and viewing this forum. As you've found out, the tank is a bit piddly - I've been caught out a couple of times myself and when I first got the bike would take a bottle of emergency fuel with me just in case. As clarkdw says, theres quite a variation in consumption, I think the best i've ever had is about 40mpg.

I've had my CB1 for 3 months now. I check my MPG at most refuels and am gettuing 50mpg all the time. That involves mainly motorway riding, often a very high speed.

i believe the cb-1's tank is around 3 gallons with the final gallon being the reserve.  i have always regularly seen 120+ miles before i hit reserve after i top off.  ive never ran it dry.  so thats 60mpg for me and tame street riding, although you cant not rev a cb-1.

I average around 50MPG.

My bike is a grey market import from Canada. I end up riding at a much saner pace every where I go because the KmPH throws me off. I feel like I'm hauling ass but no, not so much.

Well I've been a CB1 owner for a little over 2 weeks.  My riding style varies, but I'd say 60% of the time, I ride with the flow of traffic with 40% "getting it done".  Around 115-120 miles I switch to reserve and fill up around 150 miles.  On average I put in about 2.7-2.9 gallons of fuel.  The manual says the tank is 3.02 and reserver of .94, but I believe that is incorrect.  More like 2.96 total (reserve included)

If you ride at a reasonable pace, yes. Most i have ever gone is 220 or thereabouts.

i have honestly never a CB-1 on the street, so i have no clue about the MPG. consumption at the track i would say is a bit high for the engine size, in 12 laps around Gateway International i burn thru a little over half a tank.

I hit reserve at 165kms after a good alpine altitude thrashing, [last week!] but mostly look to re-fill at 200kms...not good on strtches of French peage....once there was 50kms before next fuel station..
