Hello,

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Brian Dallner. I own a business doing reproduction decals and other reproduction and restoration services for (mainly) "vintage" motorcycles. My business name is BDesigns, and I am located in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.

For decals, my goal is to create more than just the stripe packages that some other companies may offer. I will create all decals on a motorcycle including frame decals or other decals even if they are hidden behind fairings, covers, etc. This approach allows vintage bike owners to either replace that impossible to find decal, or purchase an entire set of decals to restore the bike back to factory decal installation. I also don't turn away customer's with unique models that may be low volume sellers. And I don't charge any artwork fees either.

I know my quality to be higher than my competitors. I have had the opportunity to obtain some competitors product and evaluate against similar products of mine and am confident of my attention to detail and accuracy. I believe that my greater attention to details makes the distinction between restoration vs. renovation. I know how important those details are since I am also a vintage bike owner/enthusiast. My project was recently featured in the February edition of Cycle Canada's "Showcase" section - a testament to the quality of work that I do.

I currently have a few versions of Honda CB-1 decal sets available at the following links; http://bdesigns.ca/1989_CB1_International.htm , http://bdesigns.ca/1989_CB1_NorthAm.htm .

I also offer some other unique restoration and renovation services as listed below. All at competitive pricing.

Decal reproductions and custom decals (I use a thermal printing process instead of solvent inkjet process for decals that most competitors use. What I use lasts longer thank inkjet printed decals and also stands up to solvents when clear coating over the decals.)

Seat and other vinyl component stencils for reproducing lettering on vinyl parts.

Plastic component (mirrors, dash components, etc) repair and re-texturing. I believe we are the only company offering this kind of service.

Handlebar control body restorations which replaces OEM lettering that has worn out. What I do far exceeds OEM lifespan of the lettering. I believe we are the only company offering this kind of service.

Some rubber component reproductions using Polyurethane rubbers.

Custom fairing bras.

Will consider other items not listed.

Kindest regards,
Brian Dallner

Funny - I had just the day before you posted found your website by google searching on 'CB-1 Replacement VIN.'  My new (to me) CB-1 is missing the original VIN sticker, and am looking to replace it at some point.  At $60 a pop, not sure how high on the priority list this is though.

Curious about your plastic part retexturizing process.  Is this simply repainting or something else more involved?

Regards,

David

Hi David,

Interesting timing on the search and posting.

I know the VIN decals seem a little pricey, but each one is basically custom and I have to setup and run for one small decal as well as do a bit of artwork. Decals normally this size that I run in batches are only around the $8-$12 mark. However, the service is there for this exact purpose.

For the re-texturing, no it is not painting at all. That eventually wears away, and some plastics don't take paint well. I can't devulge the process because it is proprietary, but it does involve repairing any scratches or nicks, re-texturing and then using a vinly/plastic dye (Forever Black) to bring the colour back. I assume you saw the customer photo of a set in the Testimonial page?

Thanks,

Brian  brian@bdesigns.ca
