So the wildfires here in California have the whole area pretty smoky and the Air Quality is the suckness. The news says too stay indoors and avoid anything that could cause heavy breathing.
But I couldn't stay in. I have a rare weekend with no overtime to work so I took advantage of the time off with Mirabelle (every one names their CB1, right ?)
My Girlfriend was on the way back from a week long tour of the Grand Teton Mountains in Wyoming with her dad. I decided to ride out to Lake Tahoe and meet up with her for Saturday Night. We got a room at David Walley's Hot Spring Resort and Spa. She was excited, to say the least. I'm going to say she was looking forward to seeing me after being away for almost two weeks, and that soaking in a geothermic mineral spring, after a 2600 mile trip on her loaded SV650, was just bonus.
So I took the CB1 as I haven't done an overnighter on the old girl yet. And my Girlfriend has an easier time keeping up with me on the CB1 than she does when I'm on my K1200R Sport

All in all the CB1 was a great bike. Even lugging my fat ass up to 8500 feet from sea level (Oakland CA) she never missed a beat. I was keeping a watchful eye on the temp gauge though. Running at 9000 rpm for 3 hours straight keeping up with traffic through the Sacramento Valley had her pretty toasty.
I took some pretty flat and straight side roads through the cities to avoid truck traffic. This is Highway 88 outside of Lodi where it meets up with Highway 12

At about 5000 feet of elevation you can really see the smoke and haze.

I pulled off by Cables Lake to get some more photo's. They'll be on the blog soon enough.

that's all my CB1 specific stuff
