Hi,
I am in the UK and have seen this bike listed as a 1995 Honda CB-1 400, I think it looks pretty cool with quite modern 'Hornety' styling for something over 12yrs old.
First of all, it looks different to other CB-1s on this site, it has CB400 written on the side panel but as it is a grey import into this country I cannot find much info on it.
Secondly, if it is a 'proper' CB-1, are they any good in terms of handling, power, reliabilty, etc I am looking for my first 'big' bike, currently have a CBF250 but am ready for a bit more oomph without being stupidly over powered.
Does anyone know where I can get the tech spec on it.

Thanks for any info.

Hi,
From the pic posted and if the year make is 1995 then it should be a cb400sf.
cb-1 (aka cb400f) were produce only untill 1993.
For tech/specs you can try this website >> http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/Honda/honda_cb400_super_four%2092.htm
Cheers.

Thanks, the year of registration is 1995 and being a grey import it could have been made a lot earlier than that, now I know a bit more about what it is exactly I'll check out the specs and data.

Do you know of any particular faults or merits of this bike. I noted by the tax disc that hadn't been on the road for a few years which rings a few alarm bells.

It's actualy not a CB-1 at all. It's a CB400 SF (Superfour). A lot of people get them mixed up but they're actualy different bikes in most respects, different engine, different frame for a start. Not a bad bike but not as well engineered as a CB-1 and a lot harder to find parts for.Beware of poorly looked after examples Wink

the cb400sf has a bad rep at being couriererd (dunno how to spell or even say that) if it hasn't been off the road in a while you'd want to check the milage and don't buy unless you can see actual qualified mechanical service history. i live in ireland and it's very hard to find one that hasn't been couried! hope this helps
