One little mistake on your first page

Excuse me, but I found one little mistake in the information on the main page. You wrote that Honda CB-1 can made about 40 horsepowers, but it made 57 horsepowers, and about 42
kW
.
It is not a horrible mistake, but it would be better, if somebody who never heard about Honda CB-1 could read the truth about CB-one's powers, and have more respect to this model.
And the new CB-400SF can made only 53 horsepowers, because of Japanese law restricts.

The CB-1 that was sold here in the United States for 2 years, 1989 & 1990, made about 45 horsepower. The CB-1 engine is from the Japanese CB400RR, and that engine put out 59 horsepower, I believe...

May be, but it's a little bit strange, because most of american versions of motorbikes are "fullpower".
But here were mentioned the japanese models too, and them were derated from 59 CBR400RR's horsepowers, to 57 hp. That's why CB-1 is nearly most powerfull 400 ccm classic bike. Because its offsprings CB400 SF (53 hp) were produced, when the new law restricts have come in to effect.

The CB-1 was an exception. Read some of the magazine articles. Because its just a "400", Honda decide the American market would rather have a stronger mid-range instead of a stronger top end, so we did not get the "full power" engine. During the two years that it was sold here, it was only a few hundred dollars cheaper than the 600 Hurricane at that time. For that price, they should have left the engine in full power mode, but they did not...

OK.Thank you for the information. I have never meet American version of CB-1 hear in Russia.
But Your statement:
Quote
The Japanese market CB-1 on the other hand lasted a lot longer. ... These CB-1's came in a multitude of colours including black, navy blue, green, grey, red, yellow and so on.
They too only made around mid 40s power
but due to Japans strict licensing laws they sold a lot better. Similar to the US market bikes but with subtle differences here and there.
is still not quite right.

My statements are correct. What you are referring to is not my statements. Those are a bit misleading but Im sure it has not stopped anyone from buying a CB-1, that really wants one...

I highly doubt that someone who wants to buy a CB-1, is going to change their mind because of a statement that isnt quite correct. If they want to buy a CB-1, then they will, regardless of what is stated on the home page of this site... Its a great bike, period. And not all of them made the same horsepower...

The US spec CB-1s, (1989-Grey tank stickers, 1990-Red tank stickers), only came in the pearl blue color. Some would say smurf blue.
Both of these years, had the same power output of approx. 45 bhp and torque approx. 23 lbs/ft

The main idea of my first message was not about buyers and their interest. I just try to say, that You (not You personally) call this site "the GLOBAL cb-1 resource", it would be better to give correct information about all cb-1 models. I don't want to argue with You (personally) about US versions of CB-1s. But the information about japanese motorcycles is incorrect. That's all.

Same as mine or close to it. Bone stock, 89' Blue, in Canada, 10,000km. Got 48.7 rwhp and 34.4 tq on 87 octane. It was hot and he didn't put in any correction factor so in truth it should have shown higher. Also tested on 94 octane on the same dyno and showed less power in similar temp. Four more hp than the HD 883 Sportster that went on the dyno after my CB-1.
Ten more hp than a well modded 400 Super Motard that was next up.
