I had thought I read in one of the reviews of the CB1 that it was a bit of a parts bin bike. And that the Hawk GT seat is a direct fit. Can anyone confirm this?

This one I know, because I tried.
Not even close as matter of fact.
The Hawk GT seat doesn't fit, I had to get a used seat out of Japan.

Hmmmmm. So much for how much inside information journalists have. Thanks, because I was looking at Corbin's solo seat made for the Hawk GT. Nice upgrade, but not if it doesn't fit!

hawk seat is much more narrow than the cb-1 seat, especially at the rear.  I have both cb-1 and bros/hawk

Yeah, I would confirm this to the negative. The CB1 seat doesn't fit a Hawk and versa vice. Here in San Francisco Hawks are like maggots. I have tried the seat on my CB1 against several years on Hawk GTs and Hawk NTs.

I was looking at the Corbin for the Hawk too. It's a no go. But you can send your seat pan to them and they will build any model corbin seat on the factory pan for no extra cost. That's what I did for my KZ750. They didn't offer one for that bike so I rode to Hollister to get a custom fit.

I swent Corbin an email asking if they would give me a discount/free seat if I let them use my bike as the model. I'll post back with what they say. Grin

Thanks for contacting them. But I think it will be a hard sell to make a new design for a twenty year old bike. I am considering having a local guy who does upholstery and dables in scooter and motorcycle recovering to make a seat. I would like to get a little more height and have it made as a solo seat with the rear flowing into a cowl look. I think I'll wait until after the track season to tackle this project (unless I can pick up an extra seat pan cheap).

It looks damn near identical to the -1 seat
