With rebuilding my bike, I want to still say within the same geometry setup. I want to ask if someone on this list can get a measurement for me? I need to know the distance from the center of the rear axle to the bottom of the sub frame tube. What I want to do is make sure my setup falls within the same setup as the stock CB-1. My bike did not come with a CB-1 shock on it so I could not get the stock measurement. I did measure what I have with the 900RR shock though.

Any help would be appreciated.

Brian,

?You are in luck. I'm working from home this morning - so I popped out and measured. On the chain side, there is the little rail (luggage rail) that hangs below the subframe - it has a one inch peg that comes off of it. I measured right where the peg connects to the rail on the front side. Measurement was 11 7/8".

Thanks Mark. I really appreciate your help.

I'll make a note of that. Last night I cut off the little peg, ground it smooth and sanded it. I kept the rail. I am going to make a small rounded piece of sheet metal, weld it to the rail and that is where the shock remote reservoir will set. Your measurment will help a lot in setting up my suspension.

I measured to the center of the axle. My chain is just touching the line for max chain adjustment as well (need to replace that thing and sprockets...)

Little off topic, but what is that peg for?

To catch your pant leg on  Grin!

Heck if I know. I've never used it for anything. Maybe it is to keep a baggage hook from sliding around the edge or something like that.
