Well I just used one of the advertisers on this site. I needed some OEM bearings for my swing arm and stearing head. While I was on this site today, an ad was on the left hand side for cheapcycleparts.com. I checked them out and their prices are really good. Best I have found on the web so far and even a bit cheaper than Hondaparts-direct.com.

Well hell  Embarrassed, They do not even this the CB-1. You';; have to use Hondaparts-direct.com. They wre a very close second.

My bearings are not for the CB-1, but rather the CBR929RR. But looking at the part numbers, the 2001 CBR929RR uses the exact same upper and lower bearing as the 1989 CB-1. The upper dust seal and lock washer have the exact same part number as well.

Honda did something very nice when they made their bikes. They believe in reuse. I was able to get my CBR400RR swingarm bearings here as well because they are common to US market bikes.

So to give you an example of pricing for the top three sites I have found for the common steering head parts.

Sweet! Thanks for the info.  Honda was smart in doing that with their parts.  Makes it alittle easier for us guys and gals with these really old bikes!  lol

One of my tasks is to find out what clutch plates the CB-1 matches with current bikes. I was lucky when I had my VFR400R to find the clutch and plain plates that matched with a current bike so I could get some good carbon plates.

When I get to the engine, I will do the research on that as well unless someone here already knows.

Hey Guys, You know you can upgrade your neck bearings to stronger timken bearings, right?
The cheapcycleparts site above has an AllBalls kit for $30 and some change in the aftermarket section. I converted my neck this past winter and even added a zerk fitting to keep the grease flowing without taking the neck apart to do it.
Less money, last longer, can't go wrong.
